Hello, Hello
Recently acquired as a free agent mid-season, this will be my first of many posts on The Gnar Gnar Corner. My name is Connor and these are a few of the tracks that i've been diggin' lately.
Here's a tasty edit by the group We Like Turtles. I know nothing about these guys (or guy) other than that they're from Spain and they make pretty darn good disco edits.

Fifteenth is a new duo composed of Sammy Bananas and Thee Mike B. I caught them opening for Mustard Pimp last friday at the Avalon and although I wasn't too impressed by their DJ set (dropping pretty generic Disco House), it was a nice change of pace from the normal Big Room House sets that typically frequent that venue. The following track is the standout from their debut 3 track EP entitled "15th".

I recently discovered this new group from Sydney, What So Not. They just released their debut EP "7 Dollar Bill" on Sweat It Out and I gotta be honest, I'm having a really hard time putting these guys into any one genre. You just gotta give it a listen for yourself, I promise you won't be disappointed. "Imperial" and "Love Theme" have been on heavy rotation lately.

Another up-and-coming producer/DJ I caught at the Avalon last Friday was VICEROY. He just dropped a new EP appropriately titled "Sunburn", which he's giving away for free here. Here's a pretty damn good take on Wiz Khalifa's "This Plane", a more digestible version of Katy Perry's "Last Friday Night", and a really good edit of Duck Sauce's "Goody Two Shoes".

I'll leave you with this video of Etta James circa 1962. You might recognize her song...
