DILLON FRANCIS AND CASPA /// LIVE @ THE AVALON 12/30/11
Last Friday in Hollywood the sound of bass was all around as Dillon Francis and dubstep legend, Caspa tested the limits of the sound system at the Avalon for it's weekly Friday CONTROL party. I've seen both artists before but it was great seeing them back to back in one of my favorite clubs. Dillon's set was full of his signature jump-up tunes with plenty of dubstep and a sprinkling of electro for good measure. By far the highlight of Dillon's set was hearing him drop our boy Jay Fay's new single, "$OOPS$" which is set to release on Mad Decent in the very near future. Caspa's set was really different from the last time I saw him, which was at HARD Summer 2010. This time around his set contained a lot more house music in addition to UK Funky and a bit of Garage. Of course there were still plenty of dirty dubstep drops to melt face, and he played some wicked classics such as his remix of "Where's My Money" by TC and "I Remember" by Kaskade and Deadmau5. Both of those memorable tracks lit the crowd up. They also pulled out all the stops for the lighting that night because the lasers were off the hook and they were really putting those gigantic fog machines to work. It was an amazing evening all around. If you are in the L.A. area I highly recommend being in attendance at the Avalon this Friday for a Trouble & Bass takeover, featuring Drop The Lime, AC Slater and Star Eyes.
