Simian Mobile Disco – Unpatterns
These days I download so much music at such a rapid pace that certain things don't always make it to my headphones. Simian Mobile Disco's latest album, Unpatterns, was one of those that slipped through the cracks. After sitting on the dusty shelf that is my computer hard-drive for a month, I finally played it out today. The repeat button on iTunes was quickly hit halfway through the first listen. Having used analog equipment for the entire album, they created a really raw, refreshing sound that is almost impossible to replicate digitally. These are all dark, sexy and really not what you'd expect to hear on the dance floor unless you're attending a warehouse party at about 3 am. Which in my opinion is much better than what you would expect to hear on the dance floor these days.
Usually I'd say oh this one is my favorite but i'm honestly digging all of these tracks. So go do yourself a favor and pick up a copy over at beatport.
